The Heart Educational Advancement Research and Training
( H.E.A.R.T.) Foundation Inc.
is an entity offering regular trainings and seminars in the medical field since 1999.
It conducts monthly Basic Life Support (BLS), Electrocardiography (ECG)
and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) courses. It also offers NCLEX review program for Registered Nurses. Other courses offeredare Cardio- Renal and Cardio-pulmonary trainings; Pediatric Cardiology (Back to Basics), Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Cardio-Sonographer Training. The courses are being handled by
by consultants, medical staff, residents and cardiology fellows of the Philippine Heart Center.
The proceeds of the training program are not only allotted to provide financial grants to deserving medical scholars training in cardiology and allied medical fields but are also earmarked to subsidized clinical trials.
Objectives
To promote the advancement of research and education and training of medical fellows and residents specializing in the field of cardiology and other allied specialties in the Philippine Heart Center (PHC)
To provide the venue and atmosphere where the trainees, practitioners, clinicians, researchers, and academe can fully share in learning and developing relevant cardiovascular technologies, skills and attitudes.
To disseminate appropriate cardiovascular information and support educational programs on cardiovascular diseases for the education of the public.
To vigorously support research activities as approved by the department of education, training, and research
To train interested medical and paramedical personnel on research methods and state of the art cardiovascular medicine, diagnostic procedures, and allied medicine locally and internationally through fellowships, grants and scholarships
To establish linkages with other institutions locally and internationally with regard to cardiovascular research and training
To undertake fund raising activities in order to support the foundation.

Basic Life Support
Designed for medical and paramedical hospital and clinical personnel, rescue and emergency response professionals, health care employees, and students of medical and allied medical fields using American Heart Association standards Participants learn Adult Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Rescue Breathing, and Foreign Body airway Obstruction Management through lecture-demonstration classes and skills exercises and testing.
A must for those who intend to take Advance Cardiac Life Support training.

A workshop for nurse, caregivers. medical, and paramedical personnel to provide them with
a basic understanding of Electrocardiography. Participants learn to take and interpret ECG
tracings through lecture-demonstrations and hands-on exercises.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Comprehensive and very challenging, the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training course incorporates all the theoretical and practical aspects of resuscitation. It includes lectures on BLS, ECG interpretation, and the pharmacologic administration of critical drugs.
The course also includes small group discussions on basic core cases in ACLS. Participants here tackle the prudent use of algorithms recommended by the American Heart Association (AHA), and American College of Cardiology (ACC) in each of the respective core cases. The course also boasts of skills and testing stations using state-of-the-art training aids where participants are taught intubations, defibrillation, and arrhythmia recognition.
ACLC is for medical and paramedical professionals with a working knowledge in BLS and ECG reading interested in furthering their knowledge with advanced resuscitation principles and techniques.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support
The program on Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) at the Philippine Heart Center was initially incorporated in the ACLS. In November 2006, a group of PALS-trained cardiologists and pulmonologists initialized the PALS program as a separate course with the objective of providing a more extensive to pediatric resuscitation.
The PALS program is a 16-hour course which caters to medical (nurses, medical students, interns and doctors) and paramedical personnel who are interested in furthering their knowledge on pediatric resuscitation.
The course includes lectures on recognition of respiratory Failure and shock, fluid therapy and medications, cardiac rhythm disturbances, trauma and newborn resuscitation, integration of cases and post arrest stabilization.
There are also skill stations on pediatric basic life support, airway and ventilation, and vascular access using state of the art training materials.
We have computerized mega-code wherein we show actual ECG tracing and make of the state of the art mannequin simulating a actual pediatric patient needing resuscitation.
Like wise, there are interactive sessions, which are held to integrate knowledge and skills into a clinically useful discipline.
At the end of this program, each participant is then expected to be competent and knowledgeable in the following:

Pediatric Cardiology (Back to Basics)
Providing a state of the art diagnosis and management of children with Heart Disease through continued research and education for all health providers.
Through the years we have accepted residents in different hospitals to rotate in our institution for 2 - 3 months exposure in our subspecialty, however, not all institutions can send their residents for training. Because of this, we were to inspired to create and offer you our 3-day extensive and well rounded approach to pediatric cardiology entitled Pediatric Cradiology: Back to Basics.
This course is open to all Pediatricians, Pediatric Residents, Family Physician and General Practitioners who are in direct care to our children with heart disease.
The course include:
Hands-on examination and Diagnosis of cardiac patients during the workshop.
We are offering the course to a maximum of 30 participants for a better interaction between you and the faculty.

Cardio Sonographers Training Course
A comprehensive seven (7) week course that encompasses the basics of Cardiac Sonography. Rigid in both didactics and practicing aspect makes the course interesting and hard at the same time, the participants will be learning from the Philippine Heart Center has to offer. The participants will also be given the chance to handle real patients with heart ailments, and be exposed to the largest NON-INVASIVE Cardiac laboratory in the Philippines equipped with state of the art Machines and facilities.

I.Regular Course Trainings
( BLS, ECG, ACLS and PALS)
Due to limited slots for every module, interested participants are requested to attend the one day registration scheduled every month.
Registration is on a first come, first served basis and no advance reservations will be entertained by HEART staff.
COMPLETE requirements upon registration
Requirements are as follows:

PAYMENT
The registrant MUST provide payment for monthly scheduled registration.
The HEART Foundation Office will only receive cash payments or corporate
